The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description, with full margins, the colors slightly faded, the sheets unevenly toned, foxing throughout, accretions and small areas of discoloration in places, occasional creasing in places (primarily in the margins), each hinged to the support (occasionally showing through), occasional small losses to the portfolio case edges and other lesser defects, in generally compromised condition
