Sandro Cinto was born in 1968 in Santo Andre, Brazil and lives and works in Sao Paulo. She is known for her large-scale, dramatic drawings that incorporate images of water, the night sky, and billowing seas. She has been greatly inspired by Japanese ukiyo-e prints, Hojusai’s iconic The Great Wave off Kanagawa, and European Romanticism. During her collaboration with Graphicstudio in 2016, Cinto was excited to explore printmaking which she had not used in her artistic practice since art school. She was particularly interested in cyanotype prints, characterized by a deep blue color that lent well to her practice. While at the studio she also created a unique sculpture and a series of five photograuve prints.
