This unique piece by Jeff Koons, created in 2014, is a Readymade artwork featuring a Kelly bag displayed on a shelf. The work was part of a larger initiative by Koons in collaboration with Svetlana Kuzmicheva-Uspenskaya's Project Perpetual, aimed at raising funds for the United Nations Foundation. The foundation encourages artists to make exclusive works to raise money for in-need children.

The Kelly bag was donated by Marie-Josee Kravis and is rendered in Parchemin Clemence Leather. The Kelly, a symbol of luxury and status, has been transformed into a work of art, reflecting Koons's ability to elevate everyday objects into the realm of high art. This piece is a testament to Koons's innovative approach and his commitment to creating art that resonates with both personal and cultural significance.

The nine Birkin and Kelly Bags transformed into Readymade works of art and subsequently offered at the 2014 charity auction were donated by Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz, Reem Beljafla, Sofia Coppola, Countess Daniela Memmo D’Amelio, HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover, Marc Jacobs, Marie-Josée Kravis, Clara Kuo, Almine Ruiz-Picasso and Diane von Furstenberg. Simon de Pury presided over the auction at a gala dinner at the Four Seasons restaurant in New York. Koons sourced the Birkin and Kelly bags from important collections as the provenance of the bags also added to the history of the work itself, as provenance adds value to art. The auction received tremendous press pre and post auction, from publications including Architectural Digest, Bloomberg, Artnet, Harper’s Bazaar, and many more.
