FURTHER DETAILS
This collection of trunks belonged to Ethel Clift McGinnis, twin sister of Montgomery Clift (1920–1966), one of the defining actors of Hollywood's golden era. The monogram "E.M.C." (Ethel McGinnis Clift) is stenciled in period gold lettering directly onto all of the luggage. The smallest trunk also bears an exceptional set of original period travel stickers — including Norddeutscher Lloyd ocean liner labels, Hotel Royal Danieli (Venice), and Genova port labels — consistent with the kind of grand European travel undertaken by this social circle in the 1920s–1930s.
