MELVILLE, Herman (1819-1891). White Jacket: or, the World in a Man-of-War. London: Richard Bentley, 1853.

The remainder issue of White Jacket, comprised of unsold sheets from the first edition and issued in a single volume with cancel title dated 1853. Though perhaps Bentley's remainder issue of White Jacket is the most common of Melville remainders, it is still scarce, with ABPC recording only five copies in the last 40 years. BAL 13661, note.
