Setting the table at Highclere’s dining room is a true art form conducted with great detail and charm. The butler and banqueting manager usually set the table with the exact layout depending on the menu and number of courses the chef is preparing. It is done wearing white gloves, which keeps the silver clean and fingerprints off the glasses. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how this great tradition is performed, from the linen to the silverware, and to view privately the magnificent state rooms at the castle including the saloon, the state dining room, and the drawing room.
GBP 2,000 - 3,000
A lesson for four people in how to set the table from the Highclere butlering staff, a private tour of the state rooms, and eight Highclere gold embossed plates and placemats in a presentation box made especially for the castle by Wedgewood.
All proceeds raised from this auction will be donated to various armed forces charities which support both veterans and victims of war, including The Royal British Legion, Oxfam, ABF – The Soldier’s Charity, Blue Star Families, the Institute for Veterans and Military Families.
