The present table, recorded as Guéridon régence genre 1103, appears to be one of only two produced by Linke in 1908. The first was a specific order, fitted as a coffre-fort, by a Mr. Buckner and another example for Linke's stock. Christopher Payne notes that the gilding for such tables was tasked to Maury and the cabinetry to Schmit aided by Sebestik who dedicated over 500 hours of work to their production. Available with the present sprially-gadrooned vase or an enfant guerrier modeled by Leon Messagé, the model is characteristic of the ébéniste's signature style following his award-winning turn at the Paris Exposition universelle of 1900. The present model is illustrated in C. Payne, François Linke: The Belle Epoque of French Furniture, Woodbridge, 2003, p. 241, pl. 257. The aforemention Bucker model was sold at Sotheby's, New York, 14 April 2008, lot 338 ($50,000).
