Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Ready to place. The ormolu with scratches and areas of tarnish, verdigris and rubbing. Tarnish most notable to back most candle arms. Some areas may be re-gilt. One arm with a soldered repair. The bobeche with residual green wax from use. The marble with ‘nibbling’ at edges, surface scratches and natural inclusions. Several repairs evident from previous chipped losses. Both candelabra leaning to one side and lacking a central element, most likely a domed lid to disguise the central stem.
