The artwork is an oil painting executed on an oxidized pulp board which is somewhat fragile but currently in stable condition. It is apparent that the substrate has undergone treatments in the past to help stabilize its condition. The oil based ground and media layers appear to be in stable condition with no flaking or lifting areas present. Ultraviolet examination reveals the presence of in-painting throughout the image, predominantly within the sky. Upon visual inspection, the artwork appears to have noticeable surface dirt present above a slightly discolored varnish layer. The artwork is in stable condition overall.
