(2) Schøyen Collection, MS 5523.

Leonardo was first performed across the entire city of Locarno in a continuous concert between 17 and 23 September 2007

The composer explained his method of constructing a score as follows 'Firstly, I "enter" inside a virtual environment and draw with my hand movements. Then, a plotter, which is a robot, draws on paper. After that, there is another human intervention: I paint in the three pre-historic colours gold, red and black at some points ... Then two lines are written with graphite pencil in my calligraphy, random excerpts from the seven most important books in my life: Shakespeare, Joyce, Pessoa, Camoes, Flaubert, Dante, and Borges. Each time a sentence is used in a score, it is erased from the book. In the end, these books will be empty' (email to M. Schøyen, 2014). The lot also includes a CD of the work and an explanation of the notation in the executive scores.
