Fair copy and drafts for this contemporary work for solo cello.

In pencil, the fair copy 15 pages, 365 x 257mm, six-stave paper (four leaves sized up with additional strips taped at head or foot), with computer-printed title and composer's name, the drafts on 17 leaves, 365 x 257mm, mostly on 10-stave paper. Blue cloth portfolio.

This solo work for cello explores manty contemporary string techniques, including playing with the wood of the bow ('col legno battuto') or 'half hair-half wood', bowing on the fingerboard ('sul tasto') or the bridge, glissandos, playing at the extrimities of the available pitches, and bowing between the bridge and the tailpiece.

One of a series of works by Simaku bearing the title 'Soliloquy', this was first performed by Peter Polzer at a Simaku concert in Innsbruck on 30 November 2003, and was published by University of York Music Press in the same year.
