Having studied Mathematics and Engineering at MIT, Jim Campbell is best-known for his electronic art that combines LED lights, film and sound investigating how meaning can be expressed with very limited information. The present lot, Reconstruction #8, is from Campbell's Reconstruction series where each work differs by the amount pixels used. A resin diffusion screen is placed over the LEDs which then reduces the resolution of the image to the point of abstraction.
