The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The first, good impression and colour. Soiled and rubbed. Paper loss to lower left edge and top right corner. Wormhole to upper right margin. Paper slightly thin in margins. Slight trimming.
The second, fair impression and colour. Slightly trimmed, light soiling and rubbing. Upper corners and edges with small losses. Slight toning.
The third, good impression and fair colour. Soiled, rubbed and creased overall. upper right margin with damages and losses. Some wormage. Bottom margin trimmed to border.
The fourth, moderate impression, colours faded. Backed, toned, light soiling and three margins trimmed to borders.
The fifth, fair impression and colour. Rubbed, soiled and creased overall. Right edge with damages and losses. Margins trimmed. Worn condition.
