Lot Essay

The first diptych is a design based on the play Gonin otokoikiji no hana kurabe. On the left sheet is the actor Iwai Kumesaburo III as Karigane Bunshichi and Ichikawa Ebizo V as Rai Shokuro. On the right sheet is the actor Ichikawa Kuzo II as Yasuno Heibei, Arashi Rikan III as Hotei Ichiemon, and Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Gokuin Chiemon.
