The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The first, very good impression and good colour. Slight toning to paper and soiling to lower edge.
The second, good impression and colour. Paper toned and soiled. Binding holes to right margin.
The third, good impression. Some fading, soiling and rubbing. Wormholes repaired to both sheets and other restorations at edges.
The fourth, good impression and fair colour. Each sheet soiled, rubbed and with binding holes along one long edge. Further damages to corners and paper edges.
The fifth, soiled, rubbed, toned and backed.
The sixth - tenth, generally good impressions and colour. The sixth and seventh with some soiling, creasing and rubbing. The seventh with holes restored. The tenth with an extended purple mark where the dye has run.
