Oil on canvas. The canvas is protected by a Perspex sheet on the reverse, within the stretcher which makes it difficult to ascertain if the work is lined or not. Minor frame abrasion. Some fine lines of craquelure and drying craquelure in places. There are some nail heads in various places along the edges of the canvas which have been painted over by the artist. Examined under ultra-violet light: The surface is slightly difficult to read due to the varnish layer. There is evidence of fluorescence in a few places, to a spot towards the lower centre edge, lower right corner and to a few tiny spots elsewhere.
