The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
There are a number of old creases subsequent to the painting being laid down on card, particularly in the top corners. There are areas where the pigments are rubbed, particularly in the blue sky and in the green hills (upper part). The nose and mouth of the prince are lightly rubbed with minor losses of the pigments (looking like minuscule flakes). The rest of the face and turban are very well preserved otherwise. There is an old fold mark/crease going across the dagger hilt with some losses of pigments along it. There are some tiny flakes in the green background with areas of light water staining, mostly to the lower part.
Minor brown staining to the margins. Remains of cloth binding along the right edge.
The calligraphic panel has some very minor smudging to the left bottom corner.
BR>Old inscription and seal impressions have been defaced. Scuffing of the margins in places.
