A FINE DRAWING OF A BATTLE SCENE WITH AN ELEPHANT ATTACKING A PRINCE
MUGHAL INDIA, LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY
Red ink on paper with black wash, depicting a war elephant charging a Mughal prince who raises his sword, the elephant followed by an army with archers shooting arrows and other horse riders carrying large elements for a tent, on the left a horse tramples three soldiers, others watch the scene, laid down on card between pink and blue paper borders
