The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This painting suffers from some creasing, particularly in the upper third. and to the right of the figure's head. This should just be visible in the catalogue image. There is also some staining, the worst example affecting an area of about 4cm. wide, just above the figure's head. There are minor smaller areas of staining, and scuffing. The margins are composed of four sections of paper, and are also stained in some areas. The upper right hand corner has a section of about 1.5cm. wide that is now lacking. The folio is laid down on card backed with ivory paper with a gold and black outer rule. The back has a later owner's number in pencil.
