There is flaking of white pigment around the neck and torso of the ruler and on the arms of the attendants. There is a small area of water damage to the centre of the pavilion near the top of the painting. A few scattered wormholes are visible. There are small areas of damage to the red border along the edges and corners, most visible to the top edge which is missing both corners along with small losses to the paper coming up to the white rules but not impacting the painting.
