The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This painting is in overall good condition. There are some minor losses to the border along the lower edge (particularly in the right hand corner where there is also a crease in the folio). This does not however affect the painting itself and is therefore not a condition concern. There are some minor areas of staining to he painting itself, for instance in the green of the ground below the groom's feet. These again are quite minor, and are visible in the image. The reverse of the painting has two small pieces of tape where it was stuck down, and a number of later owner's marks.
