The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There is some scuffing to this painting, most noticeably to the inscription in the lower margin, where the top line has been deliberately eradicated. The margins have a few minor losses, worst in the left hand margin about a quarter of the way down. The largest loss is about 2cm. long, but these do not affect the painting itself. There are some minor areas of staining, probably water damage, mostly visible in the white curtain and grey ground, but again these are not major condition concerns.
