The borders of the calligraphic panels are damaged by perforation and pin rust marks . The panel to the left of the painting is torn by approximately 2 Inches (5 cm) and restored. Stains are also visible on the top central panel above the painting on the border of the calligraphic text. Some of the motifs within the panels laid around the panel are rubbed and flaked. The painting in the centre has very strong pigments. The sky shows a slight brown tarnished hue and a few stain dots to the right hand side of the sitter. A damp stain is visible right opposite the sitter, but not affecting him. Overall the painting is in fair condition.
