The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This painting is in overall good condition. There is some scuffing and flaking of paint, although this mainly affects the margins, particularly along the right hand side, as visible in the catalogue image. The painting itself has a few small places where the paint has been scuffed, but these are very minor. There is a small dark stain in the lower margin that extends down from the gold minor border. There are a few smaller areas of staining. The reverse of the painting has some remains of red paper, and a later owner's inscription in pencil.
