The two paintings from Murshidabad here depict scenes from the life of Krishna. In the first painting, a scene from the Bhagavata Purana, the infant Krishna is defeating the demoness Putana, who had tried to poison the young lord with her breast milk. The second painting depicts a scene from the Mahabharata, Bhishma paralyzed upon a bed of arrows. The third painting here, possibly from Jaipur, is inscribed with text from the Ramayana and is accompanied by a painting of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, Krishna and Balarama.
