Lot Essay

A princess and her attendant are seated in a grove beneath a tree. She wears a sheer peshvaj over her pink paijama and an adorned turban to disguise herself as a prince. The fabrics are weighty and well-modeled as evident in the princess’ sleeves and attendant’s odhani. The attendant sits beside the main figure as a caged parakeet turns toward the pair. The figures’ facial features are softly sculpted and their eyes gaze knowingly into the distance.
