Lot Essay

David has no formal training or background in art but has inherited a keen eye for detail from his father who worked as a Draughtsman for British Rail for many years. As a child in the late 1970s his father would draw detailed ink line drawings of his favourite cartoon characters, The Wombles, The Lone Ranger and Tufty the Squirrel. These fond memories have stayed with David as he now regularly draws his 2 young daughters their favourite characters. This is David’s first attempt at painting in acrylics and he has chosen a study of his beloved Cocker Spaniel puppy, Diego, for INSIDE ART: London.
