Izzie and her father used to play a game when she was in elementary school: Every weekend, her father would pick her a topic to paint. After Izzie finished painting, her father would wrote a poem on her painting and hung the work in the living room. They’ve created many works together. This tradition stopped as Izzie grew older and got busy with school works.
Recently they thought it’s time to re-start the tradition, and these two paintings were created after Izzie’s father picked the topic. Izzie tried to create the atmosphere in a famous Chinese poem: The forest is more peaceful while cicadas are chirping. The mountain is more secluded while the birds are singing. ‘蝉噪林逾静,鸟鸣山更幽’
