Lot Essay

Exploring the new medium of digital art, the artist works with and manipulates the different digital layers to achieve the visual texture of traditional watercolor. Influenced by John James Audubon's naturalistic way of capturing aviary species and inspired by Edward Hopper's use of color, the artist has produced this image of the Pink-throated Twinspot. Bold and natural colors intertwined with the juxtaposition of the vines gives this piece movement and stability simultaneously.
