Lot Essay

“Texture” is the expression of being lost in thoughts and feelings during a challenging time in life in the realm of avant garde. The found old peice of wood was lightly washed with acrylic paint before aging outside for months. The aging process developed interesting texture patterns on the surface that developed beautiful and interesting shapes. After the piece dried, the artist started applying thin ink strokes emulating the texture. The colorful tones serve as the artists expression that complimented the earthy tones bleeding through the white paint.

The piece is meant to serve a collaboration between the product of weather and the product of the human mind. A beautiful expression of appreciation through the illusion of texture and the actuality of texture. “
