The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

A l'œil nu, le tableau apparaît dans un état de conservation moyennement satisfaisant. Il a été réduit sur les bords droit et inférieur. Notre tableau est un fragment. Il est sous un vernis ancien sale. On constate quelques usures dans le drapé rose à gauche. Il a été rentoilé dans la deuxième moitié du XXe siècle, rentoilage qui n'a pas trop tassé la matière picturale.
A la lampe UV, le tableau apparaît sous un vernis vert uniforme. On remarque de fines reprises essentiellement dans les fonds et plus particulièrement dans le ciel. Il est partiellement déverni sur les personnages. Dans un cadré doré (59,5 x 50,5 cm), travail français de style Régence.

ENGLISH :
To the naked eye, the painting is in a fairly good overall condition. It has been reduced on the right and lower edges. The painting is fragmented. It is under a dirty old varnish. Some abrasions are noticeable in the pink drapery on the left. It has been relined during the second half of the 20th Century, correspondingly the paint surface has been marginally flattened on some areas.
Examination under UV lighting reveals thin retouches especially in the backgrounds and in the sky. The painting is covered in a coat of green varnish. The varnish has been partially lightened in the figures. In a guilt frame (59,5 x 50,5 cm), French work, Régence style.
