The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

FRANÇAIS :
A l'œil nu, le tableau se présente dans un état de conservation relativement satisfaisant. Il est sur sa toile d'origine mais on constate un défaut de préparation ayant causé des craquelures principalement au centre dans l'arbre et dans les végétations sur la pergola. Le tableau est assez sale, les blancs ont jaunis.
A la lampe UV, on constate d’anciennes restaurations le long du bord droit ainsi qu’une légère restauration dans la fumée s’échappant du Vésuve, assez ancienne et difficile à voir. Le tableau est sous un vernis très sec, presque inexistant par endroits. Dans un cadre doré de style Charles X (49 x 64 cm).

ENGLISH :
To the naked eye, the painting is a quite satisfactory condition. It is unlined but a default of preparation caused some cracks especially in the centre, on the tree and in the vegetation on the pergola. The painting is quite dirty, the whites have turned yellow.
Examination under UV lighting reveals ancient restorations along the right edge as well as a slight restoration in the smock coming out of the Vesuvius, quite ancient and difficult to see. The painting is under a very dry varnish, almost inexistent in some places. In a giltwood frame, Charles X style (49 x 64 cm).
