The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Le tableau se présente dans un état de conservation satisfaisant. Il a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage dans la première moitié du XXe siècle, un peu fort, mais le tableau conserve de beaux empâtements de matière. A l'oeil nu, on ne constate pas de restauration. On constate quelques craquelures visibles surtout au centre dans l'architecture entre la vestale et l'enfant.
A la lampe UV, on constate des restaurations le long de la bande horizontale supérieure correspondant certainement à des usures dues au frottement du cadre. On constate des retouches ponctuelles réparties dans l'architecture et le sol.

The painting is in a good overall condition. It has been relined in the first half of the XXth century but still has nice impasto. To the naked eye, we cannot see any restorations. We can see a few cracks in the centre in the architecture between the child and the vestal.
Under the UV lighting we can see some restoration along the right edge probably caused by the rubbing of the frame. We can see some tiny restorations in the architecture and on the floor.
