The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has not been recently restored. The canvas has been lined with glue as an adhesive. The texture of the paint is still very prominent. It is more than likely that the work is dirty. No retouches are visible under ultraviolet light because of the yellowed varnish. It seems unlikely that there are retouches beneath the yellowed varnish. It is possible that the golden brushstrokes in the lower center sky may have received slight restoration.
