The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Three chairs retaining three original rails and with later front rails, probably replaced in the 19th century. Three chairs re-railed in the 19th century and two chairs re-railed in the 20th century. Inevitable minor scratches, marks, knocks, dents and discoloration to the timber consistent with age and use. Some minor losses to carving and to caning. Minor restorations to splats. Most chairs with restorations to the uprights at the join with the arms and some with repairs to arm terminals. Color consistency throughout.
