The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Generally good order; some light scratches and wear; a few minute nibbles to the footrims; light wear to the gilding; further issues and sizes noted below:
A coffee-pot and cover, 87⁄8 in. high— Good condition.
A teapot and a matched later cover, 71⁄2 in. long, overall—The cover does not belong to this teapot, as stated, otherwise in good order.
A sugar-bowl and cover, 45⁄8 in. wide—Good condition.
A tea-caddy and a matched cover, 53⁄8 in. high—The matched cover heavily restored, the old overpaint now flaking.
A hot-milk jug and cover, 51⁄2 in. high—Good condition, a small chip to the underside of the cover rim.
Twelve teacups and saucers
-6 teacups and 7 saucers, mid-18th century, 17⁄8 in. high, the cups— Good condition, some light wear to the saucers where the cups rest.
-6 teacups and 5 saucers, dot period, 2 in. high, the cups—Some wear to the gilding on cup rims; one cup with a stained hairline crack extending from the rim; another with a small rim chip, another with a firing crack to the center of its handle; one saucer with a restuck rim chip.
Six coffee-cups and saucers, 23⁄4 in. high, the cups-- Good condition; one with wear to the gilding at the rim; one with nick to the rim of the saucer.
