Lot Essay

A near identical box in form and decoration is illustrated by Sarah-Katharina Acevedo et al., Meissen snuff-boxes of the Eighteenth Century, Munich, 2013, p. 314, cat. no. 94, where Ulrich Pietsch dates the porcelain of the box to circa 1722-23 and the decoration to circa 1745.
