The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Presents well; minor wear/scratches; some light wear to the gilding; the footrim of the tray with a small section broken and restuck, the footrim also with another flat/ground chip; a tiny chip to the footrim of the teapot; one teacup with a large chip to the rim; one coffee cup with a section of the exterior rim overpainted, possibly just over a flat chip (the interior ok), a chip also to its inner footrim. A set of this type would have included a sugar-bowl and cover—you can see the missing emplacement for it in the fitted box. The fitted box not inspected for condition and sold as is. No chromium was found in the green during XRF testing.
