The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The porcelain in overall good condition; some minor surface wear and some wear to the gilding; one of the quatrefoil panels on the cover with a horizontal hairline or scratch to the sky; some small firing lines and imperfections in the making. The mount sits a bit unevenly on a flat surface (wobbly); the ormolu generally with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected. The greens were found to contain chromium when XRF tested, confirming the decoration must of be of later (19th century) date.
