The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall the miniatures are in good order and appearance with general wear, rubbing, scattered tiny marks throughout, and some discoloration from age. Each is signed on the lower edge/ truncation of the bust portrait and the signatures are visible in the online catalogue images - some are partially worn and slightly obscured. Please note, the portrait miniatures have not been examined outside of their frames. There is some dust which has gotten into the frame between the glass. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of the frames, which are structurally sound and ready to use, but have had general wear and small losses. The online catalogue images are accurate.
