Generally, the marquetry and veneers overall with scattered fraying, lifting, and minor cracks with minor areas of losses and signs of infill and restorations. The writing slide is constructed with a hinged, lifting surface, but is apparently missing a ratchet or other element to hold it in a raised position; the leather to the writing surface is later. Generally, the slide and drawers somewhat tight. The ormolu sabots with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected.
