The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Good overall presentation, structurally sound. With scattered age and construction cracks, and with general overall marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use. The veneers with scattered fraying, lifting, and minor cracks with minor areas of losses and signs of infill and restorations; the upper edge of the apron with some more prominent veneer loss and lifting. Overall with signs of stabilization, including two screws into the upper front edge (not visible when the marble is placed) as well as patches and repairs visible at the interior sides of the drawer fronts (not visible from the exteriors). The upper left drawer reveneered where a previous lock has been removed. All the drawer bottoms with residue from blue lining paper previously glued in. The ormolu with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected. The mounts regilt, and as stated in the cataloguing, the chutes are associated. The marble repaired in several places, as well as with the expected light scratches and chips and 'nibbles' throughout.
