The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In good overall condition. With scattered age and construction cracks, and with general overall marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use. The drawer interior with some ink marks, consistent with use; the fitted compartments lacking writing implements. The marquetry and veneers overall with scattered fraying, lifting, and minor cracks with minor areas of losses and signs of infill and restorations, including to the lowest few inches at each leg. Overall with evidence of minor previous woodworm, now inactive. The ormolu regilt, with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected. The leather to the writing surface is later, with the expected light wear from use. Overall good condition, ready to place. With one key.
