The decoration with a fair amount of wear, revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in areas, the parcel gilding only visible as traces. With scattered age and construction cracks, general overall nicks, scratches, small losses and repairs consistent with age and use, the repairs especially apparent at the backs of the top rails; both openwork scrolls lacking at the proper right knee on one chair, and the upper arm-support at the same side. The undersides with later corner blocks, some repairs and reinforcements to the rails. Evidence of some previous woodworm, including to the later blocks, now inactive. The upholstery with minor marks, faint discoloration and overall signs of wear, as to be expected from use; a fair amount of the pile lost at the armrests.
