The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In good overall condition. The rims of the bodies appear not to have been cut down in the mounting process; a thin line of fill, putty or old glue, now light brown in tone, is visible around the rim of each, joining it to the mount. The porcelain otherwise in good overall condition with no apparent repairs or restoration; with the expected minor imperfections, in the making, including scattered kiln specks and a short (approx. ¹⁄₂ in.) firing line to the interior of one. Overall with scattered minor scratches, rubbing and wear to the surfaces, consistent with age and handling. One with some crazing to the glaze at its interior. The ormolu with some minor surface scratches, slight casting inconsistencies, light oxidation and rubbing, as to be expected. As stated in the cataloguing, of a later date than the porcelain. Overall good condition, ready to place.
