The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This work has not been relined. The surface is slightly dry. Under UV examination, a number of the artist's original pigments read quite darkly, making it difficult to distinguish restorations. However, there seems to be some inpainting in and around horse's tail and above his back. There is inpainting to the edges.
