The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Oil on canvas. The canvas has been re-lined. The paint layer appears to be secure and stable. The painted surface has some minor varnish discoloration, localised areas of cracquelure and some nice impastos intact.

Examination under UV light shows a horizontal repair circa 12 cm in the upper right corner. Scattered spots of cosmetic retouching and inpaint, predominantly in the upper half of the picture.

Overall the painting presents very well in a gilt period style frame.
