Paul Hill was formerly a newspaper reporter, turning freelance photographer in 1967, and worked for the Birmingham Post & Mail, The Guardian, The Observer, The Telegraph Magazine and the BBC. He is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential photographers and teachers of photography working in the UK during the last thirty years. In 1976, with his wife Angela, he established The Photographer’s Place, a workshop and study centre at their home in Bradbourne, Derbyshire. His work is in the collections of many major galleries and museums, including the V&A, British Council, Arts Council, The Japanese Photography Foundation, Australian National Gallery and Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
