Lot Essay

Jupiter Artland
Jupiter Artland is owned by Robert and Nicky Wilson, who invite you to visit their spectacular sculpture park just outside Edinburgh. Since 1999, they have commissioned leading contemporary artists including Sir Antony Gormley, Anish Kapoor, Andy Goldsworthy and Marc Quinn to create artworks which sit alongside works by new and emerging artists in beautiful woods and parkland surrounding their home, Bonnington House, a Jacobean manor.

Charles Jencks
Charles Jencks' garden is a unique ongoing creation which explores and celebrates nature using all of the senses through gardens, bridges, landforms, sculptures, terraces, fences and architectural work.

Little Sparta

The garden created by artist and poet Ian Hamilton Finlay is a fusion of poetic and sculptural elements with those of the natural landscape.

The Fine Art Society
Situated in the heart of Edinburgh's Georgian New Town, The Fine Art Society is one of Edinburgh's leading private galleries, specialising in Scottish paintings and sculpture from the 17th Century to the present.

Silvy Weatherall
The artist lives on a farm in Dumfries & Galloway, taking inspiration from her fear of waste. Silvy uses, amongst other things, the by-products of her husband’s meat and game business, found bones, skull, road kill, feathers and other things that have lost their value for us and transforms them into objects of desire.
Weatherall's work embodies the values of sustainability, an issue It's Our World highlights. Jupiter Artland held an exhibition of Silvy’s works A Body Of Parts in 2014. The Fine Arts Society will be hosting an exhibition of her latest works Another Man’s Treasure in October 2016.
