Lot Essay

Emerald Cornwall
Emerald Cornwall is the UK's first zero carbon, luxury boutique retreat, located between Falmouth and Truro in Cornwall. It offers seclusion and relaxation, but is within easy reach of places to eat and drink on the North and South coasts of Cornwall. Comprising six beautiful properties, the Emerald proves that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand, with an indoor pool, gym, tennis court and 5.5 acres to explore.

This unique experience also includes a guided tour of The Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange in Penzance. Founded in 1895, in light of the long history of contemporary art making in the far west of Cornwall to celebrate art and support the artists. It has recently presented solo exhibitons of some of the region's foremost practitioners such as Terry Frost, Sandra Blow, Roger Hilton and Breon O'Casey.

Eden Project, Cornwall
Eden began as a dream in 1995 and opened its doors to the public in 2000, since when more than 17 million people have come to see what was once a sterile pit turned into a cradle of life containing world-class horticulture and startling architecture symbolic of human endeavour.
Eden is proud of its success in changing people’s perception of the potential for and the application of science, by communicating and interpreting scientific concepts through the use of art, drama and storytelling as well as living up to its mission to take a pivotal role in local regeneration. It demonstrates once and for all that sustainability is about good business practice and the citizenship values of the future.
Nestled in a huge crater, massive Biomes housing the largest rainforest in captivity, stunning plants, exhibitions and stories serve as a backdrop to Eden’s striking contemporary gardens, summer concerts and exciting year-round family events.
